Object Description
This fine antique Victorian sterling silver cream jug is of inverted pear-shaped form. The body is lavishly embellished with a foliate design incorporating scrolling borders and scale motif panels. There is also a vacant cartouche on one side and on the reverse the cartouche contains the hallmark. The border also incorporates the leaf design. The jug is supported by four claw feet with scrolling sockets in junction with the body and has a leaf scroll handle. The interior of the jug is gilded. The Jug is made by Walker and Hall of Sheffield in 1900. Height to lip 4 inches, 10.16 cm, width from lip to handle 3.75 inches, 9.525 cm. Weight 4.6 troy oz., 143 grams
