Object Description
Circa 1870. A mid Victorian burr walnut and inlaid work table. The circular top with quarter matching burr walnut veneers, boxwood inlay and marquetry, with an elegant and stylish moulded edge. The top is hinged and opens to reveal a well fit interior with lift out boxwood fretwork sections, and small compartments for threads. The shaped curved body in burr walnut, rests on three turned, tapering, fluted and carved legs, intersected by a large carved boss, surmounted by a well-shaped finial, al resting on three curved and shaped and carved legs finishing on the original white porcelain castors.
