Object Description
A Victorian diamond crescent brooch, with two rows of old-cut diamonds, graduating from the centre, spaced with tiny diamonds, in grain settings, with rose-cut diamonds at the ends, with a flat edge on the inside and crown claw settings on the outside curve, mounted in silver-upon-gold, circa 1890. The estimated total diamond weight is 7.00 carats. In Victorian symbolism the crescent or new moon represented a new relationship, hopeful it will “wax” into matrimony.
Approximate weight: 14.72 grams
