Object Description
Circa 1860. Mid- Victorian mahogany pedestal desk. The crossbanded rectangular top with green leather insert and stylish moulded fore-edge over 3 pull out writing slides, with the central slide hinged. Beneath are three frieze drawers – the central drawer is faux. Supported on pedestals with graduated 5 flame mahogany drawers with twin turned knob handles flamed and simple side pilasters, with the inside pilasters hinged and lockable, both standing on enclosed mahogany plinths. The back of the desk is polished with faux drawers and cupboards below. Lovely mellow colour, neat sized excellent condition.
