Object Description
Circa 1870, Victorian mahogany secretaire bookcase. With Victorian flared corners, a simple frieze and carved corbels beneath leading on to glazed doors with mahogany beading. Opening to reveal three adjustable pine shelves with mahogany facings, above a full length drawer with cast brass lifting handles. Inside this is a bank of drawers, pigeon holes and a small gilded leather writing surface. Beneath the secretaire drawer are two doors with flame mahogany panels and it all stands on an enclosed plinth.
