A fine 19th century early Victorian rosewood pedestal desk. The desk has a black hide leather writing surface and nine drawers to the front and dummy drawers to the reverse.
The drawers are ash wood lined, have turned rosewood knob handles and oval brass keyhole escutcheons.
The desk has two working keys and the original locks are stamped with a crown and ‘V R’.
The desk is made from good quality grained rosewood and is in very good condition.
The hide leather writing surface has gilt Greek key tooling decoration and is a replacement.
The desk breaks down into three parts for transport. (Circa 1840)
