Object Description
Victorian ruby and diamond ring. Set to centre with an oval old cut natural and unenhanced ruby in a closed back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.50 further, set with six cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.30 carats, to an elegant flanked solitaire design featuring curving claws, a scalloped relief gallery and round open and closed backholing, flanked by trumpeting pierced grooved shoulders flowing down to a solid tapering D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1840.
