Object Description
Victorian sapphire and diamond cluster earrings. A matching pair, each set to centre with one cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting, two in total, with a combined approximate weight of 2.00 carats, each encircled by a cluster of eighteen round rose cut diamonds, in open back rubover settings, thirty-six in total, with a combined approximate weight of 0.80 carats, to an impressive cluster design featuring stylised claws, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure post and butterfly, approximately 1.2cm in length. Tested yellow gold and silver settings, circa 1870, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5783-2152.
