This vibrant piece was previously owned by Seymour Stein – music executive and co-founder of Sire Records, who launched the careers of Madonna, Talking Heads, and the Ramones.

Greek God Boreas
Boreas was the purple-winged god of the north wind. He was also the god of winter who swept down from the cold mountains of Thrake (Thrace), chilling the air with his icy breath.
He was one of the four seasonal Anemoi (wind Gods), who were often imagined as horse-shaped. In works of art, Boreas was represented as winged, bearded, and powerful. You can see the feathers of his wings in this panel where his shoulders should be.
