Object Description
Victorian three stone diamond ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.18 carats, flanked by two cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.80 carats, further set with six cushion shape old mine diamonds in closed back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.12 carats, further adorned with twenty four round rose cut diamonds in closed back grain and rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.24 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.34 carats, to an ornate three stone design featuring curving claws with scrollwork detail, a floral design to the gallery and open backholing to the centre, the trumpeting shoulders tapering to a solid D-shape shank. Tested 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1880.
