Object Description
Vintage Burmese ruby and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.50 carats, surrounded by a single row of twelve round brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approcimate weight of 0.85 carats, further encircled by six round brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.20 carats, alternated by six drop shape Burmese rubies in open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.30 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.05 carats and the total approximate ruby weight is 2.80 carats, to an impressive cluster form with curving claws, a structured openwork gallery and intricate fancy backholing, flanked by trumpeting split shoulders and flowing through to a solid tapering shank. Tested platinum, circa 1970, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #79212-73.
