Object Description
Vintage diamond flanked solitaire ring. Set to centre with a square step cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.85 carats, further set with two triangular step cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.40 carats, further adorned with fourteen round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.50 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.75 carats, to a fancy flanked solitaire design featuring curving corner claws, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, flanked by trumpeting openwork shoulders flowing through to a solid tapered D-shaped shank. Tested platinum, circa 1950.
