Object Description

This grand wool area rug was woven by hand in Persia, in the 1940s with the finest materials. The central design has been woven on a vibrant orange background with green, cream, orange and blue diamond medallions which have been woven in a diagonal pattern.
This is then framed by a layered repeat border with yellow and white accents. This piece is sure to make the perfect addition to any home as a vibrant accent rug. Suitable for both classic and contemporary home interiors with a vibrant colour palette and traditional village design.

Object History

Made by hand in Persia, by the Qashqai people who are known for their tribal village designs. Constructed with hand-spun wool and cotton, densely hand-knotted which creates the fine wool pile in this piece. The rich colours come from natural dyeing techniques, which have been used for generations. This fine wool rug is sure to last for generations if cleaned and cared for correctly.
