Wedgwood Majolica Faun Compote

Object Description

Wedgwood Majolica compote which features a faun supporting the top dish. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, ochre, are predominant. The piece bears maker’s marks for the Wedgwood pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1871.

Object Condition

Generally good. Two hairlines to rim. Some small flakes to tree stump and hoof. RESTORATION. Section of rim reglued and retouched in places. Retouched flake to rim.
