Object History

This is a rare candle holder which came from Mold in Denbighshire, there is one a little similar on page 281 of of Robert Ashley’s “The Rush light and Related Holders”.

Object Condition

The base is all original but has some worm as sycamore is a soft wood,it would take polish well if needed. The iron collar on the turned stem is also original and used to stop the stem splitting. The metalwork although a little crude is good and there is a small ring that was added later to stop the candle holder going too far down.
