Western Asiatic Amlash Terracotta Vessel

Object Description

A finely modelled Amlash terracotta vessel. The vessel sits on a raised, circular foot, from which curving walls rise to create a rounded body. At the shoulder, the vessel curves inwards, forming a concave neck, which flares out to a wide mouth. The jar is enriched with a series of incised bands, encircling the neck of the vessel.

Date: Circa 1st Millennium BC

Object Condition

Fine condition. Earthly encrustations to the surface. Signs of wear as consistent with age, such as minor chips to the rim, some discolouration to the surface, some flaking, chipping, scratches, and surface pitting. Repair to the upper section of the body.
