Western Asiatic Gold Domed Earrings

Object Description

A fine pair of matching Western Asiatic gold earrings. Both earrings are composed of two vertically arranged hollow-formed gold hemispheres connected by a row of granulation. Attached to the back are thin ear hooks secured at the top by small loops. Minor encrustation to the surface.

Date: Circa 1st Millenium BC

Object History

From a late Japanese specialist collector, 1970s-2000s.

Object Condition

Good condition with wear and minor tears to the back of both domes and occasional frontal dents consistent with age.
