Wonderful illustrative oil painting by 1950s English School depicting the authentic 1950s view of an unspoilt Ibiza before the Hippy hoards arrived twenty years later. From the 1930s the Bohemians started to arrive, in the 1950s Ibiza became a popular European refuge for many artists, writers and poets from around the world. This white villa in a rural setting must have been somebody’s personal paradise in 1957, perhaps the painter himself?
