Object Description
Circa 1920s. Unusual and stylish Chinese style double walnut chest by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh. The top with book matched walnut with a slightly curved and raised ends, to the front in the frieze there is a pair of drawers with elegant heart shaped cast brass keys. Beneath this is a bank of three drawers, with flamed matched bleached mahogany veneers, turned knob handles and crossbanding. The gables have two panels top and bottom, beneath the bottom drawer is a simple moulding and frieze and the piece rests on four elegant, carved Lorimeresque style feet.
