Object Description
Circa 1815. A quality Scottish Regency breakfast in the style of or by ‘William Trotter of Edinburgh’. The top in book matched flame mahogany with ebony inlay and broad banding with burr yew. The table has a simple fore edge and frieze with an ebonized string inlay to the base. The oval top is hinged and can be opened, supported on a solid ash block, supporting four shaped uprights which support a circular shelf, and finishing with carved flower heads on each side. All resting on a stylish platform base, issuing four hipped saber legs with tapering reeding on the facing, finishing with a cast brass block with brass castors beneath.
