WMF Art Nouveau Champagne Cooler

Object Description

WMF silver plated wine/Champagne cooler with a scantily clad maiden forming a handle to one side, lily pad leaf and stem forming the handle to the other side. Engraving to front reads ‘Pa silfverbrollopsdagen fran Tilda och Yvar’. Maker’s marks impressed ‘WMFB’, ‘I/O’ and ‘as’ to underside. Illustrated on page 154, ‘Art Nouveau Domestic Design from Wurttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik’ published by the ‘Antique Collectors Club’.

Object Condition

Good. Any damage, wear, original manufacturing defects or repair that may be present, is minor and not detracting.
