Yorkshire Prattware Mexborough Chapel Moneybox

Object Description

Staffordshire Pottery Yorkshire money box which features Mexborough Chapel – with the box owners name, ‘MIRIAM WINN’, printed on the front. Flanked by two figures standing either side of the front doors, stood on a rectangular footed base. Decorated ‘in the round’ – decoration to front and reverse. Coin slot to the reverse.

Object Condition

Generally good. Shallow chip inside the coin slot. Some small flakes to front, sides and reverse. KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to left side of roof. RESTORATION. Two filled chips to front of roof. Some retouching to flakes to the ochre and green glaze.
