Geoffrey Stead studied interior design at the Central School of Art in London he then became an interior design consultant for a major retail store, eventually opening and running a successful antiques department. In 1972 he left to found Geoffrey Stead Antiques, based in the Cotswolds, supplying antique furniture and decorative works of art to antique dealers & decorators at home & abroad.
He now divides his time between a chateau in the south of France & a farmhouse in the Cotswolds, dealing in 17th, 18th & early 19th century French & Italian furniture from a warehouse in Moreton-in-Marsh Gloucestershire, which is open by appointment.
He currently exhibits at five major antiques fairs in London & is always happy to accept commissions to find a particular item & to advise on all aspects of interior decoration.
