The unique team at Ottocento are husband and wife Max and Louise Andrews, who share over 40 years’ collective experience in the fine art world and are absolutely passionate about sourcing distinctive and compelling pieces of art that all have a fascinating narrative. Their friendly and approachable manner means that whether this is your first fine art purchase or you are building a collection, you will feel fully welcomed and receive the personal service required.
Max’s love of the arts started before he completed his Masters in Textile Design at Central St Martin's and was fully developed at Christie’s in London, ending his tenure there as Head of Sale in the 19th Century European department. Louise, herself a Masters graduate from Palazzo Spinelli in Florence, has worked at both Christie’s and Gurr John’s Ltd, with prominent international art collectors and collections.
The husband and wife team maintain close contacts with art dealers, auction houses and galleries both in London and on the international stage, ensuring that they can source exciting and rare works of art for your collection. They have sold to museums and public institutions alike.
Ottocento negotiate preferential rates with auction houses and will handle the selling process from consignment to payment and can ship artwork to anywhere in the world at highly favourable rates, and in certain cases for free.
They show at key art fairs each year including LAPADA and Petworth Art & Antiques Fair in West Sussex.
Additional services include valuations, research, restoration and framing advice, as well as an art advisory service for those needing help when building a collection.
