The show is presented by John and Felicity Rae-Smith, veterans of some of the major London art fairs such as Olympia, Works on Paper and LAPADA. It will feature original artwork from many of the best known cartoonists from Punch and the press, for example, Lewis Baumer (famous for his 1920’s Bright Young Things), Mel Calman (the late, celebrated cartoonist for The Times), and MAC (who has been the Daily Mail’s leading cartoonist for over 40 years).
As always, the Rae-Smiths will exhibit an eclectic mix of graphic artwork including not only cartoons but children’s illustrations, including favourites such as “Noddy” artwork (by the original artist, Harmsen Van Der Beek), and a selection of fashion/textile designs. Prices range from approximately £100 to £5000.
“Cartoons & All Sorts” runs from Tuesday 26th – Saturday 30th January, opening daily from 11.30am – 5.30pm. There will be a Private View (invitation only) from 6.00pm – 8.30pm on 25th January.
