Entitled Temptations, the exhibition features the collection of one discerning collector, who over thirty years has put together a selection of Tunbridge Ware both of quality and distinction. Each piece has been chosen for its aesthetic appeal, with particular reference to design and the choice of mosaics employed. The net result provides a most pleasing selection, with many tempting choices for today’s collectors.
The exhibition comprises 70 pieces of Tunbridge Ware and features several mini collections including pincushions, thermometers and caddy spoons. There are a number of labelled pieces from renowned makers such as Edmund Nye, Thomas Barton, Henry Hollamby & Robert Russell.
The very unusual heart shaped letter rack circa 1845, pictured, is an example from the exhibition.
