19th Century French Blacksmiths Sign

Object Description

Depicting the traditional bouquet of St. Eloi, made in honor of the patron saint of metal craftsmen. Its original purpose is to show the different types of horseshoes that could be executed by the blacksmith. Provence, France circa 1800

Object Condition

fairly fragile but intact, extensive oxidation, parts missing etc.
