Object Description

For sale is this extraordinary set of twelve silver bowls by the Czech silver maker Franz Bibus. The bowls are beautifully made with meticulous soldering to create eight sides to each bowl. The silver is hand hammered with a guilloche finish to the base. The gauge is excellent with each bowl weighing 149 grams or 5.3 oz. They are a remarkable survivor as a set of twelve in near mint condition,
Franz (Frantisek) Bibus or Franz Bibus & Sons were the leading Czech inter-war silver manufacturer, with a history dating back to the 19th century. The Czech mark on these bowls date them to c 1930, 800 silver standard.
