A stunning Opal and Diamond Drop Pendant Necklace, circa 1920.
Featuring four superb cabochon cut vivid opals with vibrant blue, red and green hues, enclosed within a claw set diamond millegrain edging. Two asymmetrical knife edge bar drops lead to pear shaped opals also in enclosed diamond millegrain settings. The opals measure approximately 4.75 carats in total and the 42 old cut diamonds measure approximately 0.64 carats in total, G/H colour and VS clarity. All stones are set set in (unmarked) 18ct white gold. The pendant drop measures 53 mm in length.
This is an exceptional example of the art deco period.
