A fine quality early nineteenth century mahogany wall drop dial timepiece by this prestigious family of clockmakers. The fully signed white painted wooden 12 inch dial retains its original crackelure surface and gilt brass hands, the minute hand with counterpoise. The flat glass door has its original brass concave moulded bezel. The case is of beautifully patinated and figured mahogany with a curved drop base, shaped “ears” and door to reveal the pendulum for adjustment.
The fusee movement has an anchor escapement and heavy brass bob pendulum.
