Object Description
An exquisite Edwardian Rivière necklace, Circa 1910.
The fifty eight graduated round cut aquamarines are rub over set within unmarked platinum millegrain edging. The aquamarines have a total weight of approximately 38.15 carats, with the largest being 9mm in width and the smallest being 4mm. The total necklace weight is 24 grams.
This is a stunning Rivière necklace with beautiful sea blue hued stones.
The term Rivière is derived from the word river in French and is so called because the stones are thought to ‘flow’ around the neck. A Rivière necklace is comprised of the same gemstones and either all the same size or graduated smoothly in size, historically set in separate collets.
