Object Description
A very elegant three row cultured pearl and diamond necklace from the 1940’s.
The graduated pearls strung with two diamond mounted platinum and 18ct gold plaques, one forming the clasp with concealed safety device. The diamonds comprise a mixture of old cut and single cut stones each with a principal diamond of 0.40 carats, total weight estimated at 4.00 carats. Diamonds VS to SI1 H-J colour.
The Japanese akoya pearls graduate from 5.5mm up to 9.5mm they are well matched and round with good lustre, colour is pale cream/pink with minor blemishes.
Length of shortest row, 45cms.
Width of each diamond set plaque, 2.6cms.
