Victorian Sapphire And Diamond Cluster Ring Circa 1900.
18 carat yellow gold with Hallmarks and an indistinct 18 carat stamp. Claw set with a central oval cut mid blue sapphire. Complemented by an outer cluster of four further round blue sapphires and four old cut diamonds.
Total diamond content measures approximately .40 carat. Diamonds G Colour, VS/SI Clarity. Sapphires measure approximately .80 carat. Diamonds and sapphires are all claw set. Plain shoulders. Plain band shank.
To the reverse the sapphires and diamonds are set in open backed settings, this allows the light to shine through.
The head of the ring measures approximately 12 mm across.
This would make a wonderful dress or engagement ring.
