Diamond cluster ring in 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1940
A circular old cut diamond is complemented by an outer cluster of diamonds an illusion setting measuring approximately .70 carats in total, H in colour and VS/SI clarity. All diamonds are claw set in platinum. A decorative pierced out gallery and plain shoulders lead to an 18 carat yellow gold plain band shank. To the reverse the diamonds are set into open backed settings, this allows the light to shine through.
Diamonds are the perfect choice for an engagement ring because of the hardness of the stone, but this pretty ring would also make a wonderful dress ring option.
