Object Description
A fine Regency rosewood bracket clock with elegant gilt brass inlays and mounts. The case with a chamfer top is surmounted by a single flambeau finial. The case stands on four brass ball feet and there is a brass floral carrying handle to each side.
The silvered dial is signed by the maker – WILSON, Southampton Street, Strand – with floral engraving to the corners and a strike/silent lever above XII. The blued steel hands appear to be original and have pointed tips.
The good-quality 8-day double fusee plated movement strikes the hours on a bell.
